Andrey Shwidkiy loves all his works. Artist has chosen to paint a very simple but vital topic – man and things that surround him. With his art Andrey Shwidkiy treats the idea of "mythical, out of time relationships between human beings; attempts to cognize oneself, to become aware of one's inner world". For quite a long time he develops this topic in the genre of figurative painting, landscape and still life.

Andrey Shwidkiy was born on the 10th of March, 1960 in Lugansk. He started painting at the age of 12. After the eighth form of secondary school he entered Lugansk state art school and then continued his education in 1980 at Kharkiv Institute of Industrial Art. While studying at the Institute Andrey Shwidkiy began to exhibit his art works, took part in regional and republican exhibitions. At the present moment artist lives and works in Lugansk. Andrey Shwidkiy is a member of the National Union of Ukrainian Artist since 1999.

Among his fellow artists he distinguishes exquisite coloring and originality of paintings of Ivan Hubskiy.
